Daytrip to BRU - to fly with the Sukhoi Super Jet !
In January I got an offer of Brussels Airlines for a daytrip to BRU. The return ticket would cost 60,- Euro so I took a look for some good flights and I found the afternoon flight BRU-HAJ would be operated by City Jet’s Sukhoi SuperJet. That was my goal on this trip so I decided to book this daytrip on 19th April.
The day came closer but an several days SN didn’t operated their Sukhoi Jet to HAJ so I got a bit nervous that my goal will be changed to an Embraer RJ-145 for example. On 18th April I checked in and saw that the flight still be operated by Sukhoi SuperJet. The weatherforecast was perfect, blue sky an wind which is coming from southern direction. Landing direction was 25.
My main goal was to ride the Sukhoi Jet so I didn’t rent a car or so. I arrive in the morning, spent some hours on a parking lot and catch return flight in the afternoon.
19th APRIL 2018
I woke up quite early and grab a cab to the airport. Security check was smooth and shortly after it I grab a coffee and waited for boarding.

Zur Bearbeitung hier klicken.Boarding was on time, many business people and some transfer passengers. Cabin crew was very friendly during this short flight and coffee or water was offered. The seats were very comfy despite their age. We arrived on runway 25L. We were bussed to the terminal were I first looked for a shop to get some water and food for the day. In the arrival area is a super market which offered a large variety of snacks, fresh sandwiches, fruits etc.. After that I went to the top of parking lot P1 were I spent the next 6 hours.
The following pictures were taken there.

As I entered the cabin it was very roomy and comfy. The legroom is very good. You can compare it to Bombardiers CS100. All in all a very nice aircraft. The cabin crew was very friendly too but they didn’t offered a free drink service compared to BMI regional on my first leg. They only offered buy on board service for drinks and food. From my point of view a bit strange because both had operated the flight for the same airline, Brussels Airlines.
Never less I can highly recommend both airlines for their warm and friendly service and especially the Sukhoi Superjet.
It is a very nice and comfy airplane and with Brussels Airlines it is an easy way to get such an uncommon aircraft type into your flightlog so if you have the chance, take it!
